Fisker has recently made a notable change in its leadership by naming David King as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This transition comes after Dr. Burkhard Huhnke’s decision to leave the company for personal reasons.
David King, an industry veteran with three decades of experience, has been a part of Fisker since 2021. As Senior Vice President of Engineering, he oversaw various aspects, including global Body Engineering and the development of the Ocean body program in Graz, Austria, at Fisker’s manufacturing facility. Additionally, King had responsibilities in managing UK operations and heading the Fisker Magic Works, the company’s special vehicle division. Notably, he played a significant role in advancing the Fisker Rōnin super GT convertible and the Force-E offroad package for the Fisker Ocean.
In his new role as CTO, David King will report directly to Henrik Fisker, the Chairman, and CEO of Fisker Inc. His responsibilities will encompass leading Fisker’s global engineering and software teams, spanning across the United States, Europe, India, and China.
Henrik Fisker expressed his confidence in David King’s capabilities, noting that “David has made substantial contributions to our engineering innovations and has provided dynamic leadership as we have moved into volume production and deliveries of the Ocean SUV. He will now bring his considerable experience to the task of leading the company into the next phase of its growth as we bring several new vehicles to market by 2025.”
Fisker also extended best wishes to Dr. Burkhard Huhnke for his future endeavors and expressed gratitude for his contributions during his tenure at the company.
This leadership transition signals Fisker’s commitment to furthering electric vehicle innovation and delivering sustainable automobiles. With David King’s extensive experience in the industry, he is expected to play a significant role in shaping the company’s future initiatives.
