Fiat has unveiled its first all-electric three-wheeler, the TRIS, targeting last-mile delivery in urban areas across Africa and the Middle East. Designed for small businesses and independent workers, the vehicle is being introduced exclusively in the MEA region, with a potential European rollout under consideration.
The TRIS was developed at Fiat’s Centro Stile in Italy and is manufactured in Morocco. It comes in three variants – flat-bed, pick-up, and chassis-cabin – allowing for customisation based on logistics needs. All configurations share a compact 3.17-metre frame, a 6.9 kWh battery (the same used in the Fiat Topolino), and a 9kW peak-output 48V motor, offering a top speed of 45 km/h and a range of up to 90 km (WMTC).
Charging is via standard AC, with 80% battery capacity reached in 3.5 hours. The TRIS can carry up to 540 kg and offers a loading area of 2.25 m²—sized to accommodate a standard euro pallet. A turning circle of just 3.05 metres enhances manoeuvrability in narrow city environments.
Inside, the vehicle features a 5.7-inch touchscreen, LED lighting, reverse buzzer, and multiple storage compartments. Fiat Professional plans to equip the TRIS with connected services such as fleet management and vehicle tracking.
“As cities grow and the need for clean, accessible transport becomes more urgent, we saw an opportunity to offer something radically simple and profoundly useful,” said Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and Global CMO of Stellantis. “TRIS answers that call—providing independent workers, small businesses, and underserved communities with a cost-effective, zero-emissions tool to move forward.”
