Fastned has opened its latest fast charging hub in Antrim, marking its second major investment in Northern Ireland following the launch of a similar facility in Banbridge earlier this year.
The new drive-thru charging station, located at the Junction Retail & Leisure Park, features three Hypercharger HYC400 units with six charging bays. The site is designed for future expansion, with capacity for up to 12 bays. Like the Banbridge location, the Antrim hub includes a solar-powered roof canopy above the chargers.

Fastned has invested £3 million (€3.5 million) in its Northern Ireland charging infrastructure, citing the need for more high-speed chargers. The company notes that fast chargers currently account for less than five percent of the region’s 687 public chargers.
“We’re delighted to open our second ultra-rapid charging station in Northern Ireland,” said Tom Hurst, UK and Ireland Country Director at Fastned. “With the Antrim hub, we are continuing to provide drivers with reliable, fast and renewable charging options, helping to build confidence in the EV transition.”
