The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid features a 100 kW electric motor, with power supplied from a larger 17.9 kWh battery.
The electric powertrain is accompanied by 325 hp from a 2,900 cc twin-turbo V6 engine, with a total power of 455 hp. The new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid can be ridden without emissions for up to 64 km according to the NEDC.
This power is channeled to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK). The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid takes 4.4 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than the previous generation) to reach speeds of 100 kph from a standstill. The top speed is claimed to reach up to 280 kph (2 kph higher than the previous generation).
A new chassis and control system is also present in all new Panamera models. The new generation control system and new tires ensure increased lateral dynamics and precise driving.
The Panamera E-Hybrid model is equipped with the Platinum type, which combines the features of the lower type with a more complete range of standard equipment.
For example, the newly designed 21-inch sports rims painted in Platinum, Black sports exhaust, privacy glass, side window trim in exclusive black, as well as taillights with an exclusive design.
The Panamera E-Hybrid is claimed to use optimized cells in their new battery, and features customized driving modes for more efficient use of energy.
This car uses the new E-Charge system, the internal combustion engine produces more energy needed to charge the battery on the move. This way, it claims battery capacity levels are always high, and electric drives can be activated upon request, for example when entering a quiet residential area at the end of a trip.
The Panamera E-Hybrid features a smarter driving mode, Hybrid Auto ensures maximum efficiency at all times by analyzing navigation details and even the topography of the ride.
For example, on entering the highway, the system automatically allows more charge to be applied to the battery when switching to combustion, if this is followed by an urban area, the system will switch to a more electric drive.
The Sport and Sport Plus modes on the Panamera E-Hybrid, the focus is purely on performance. Both battery systems keep capacity on standby to ensure power is available. In Sport Plus mode, the battery charges faster through recovery and the onboard charger.
Most drivers charge their vehicles at home, so a conventional domestic or industrial electrical socket is sufficient to charge all Porsche plug-in hybrid models. Depending on the vehicle model, a charging power of up to 7.2 kW can be achieved with the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect.
By using a Mode 3 charging cable, owners can also charge at common charging points. Mobile Charger Connect offers multiple charging functions and there is a timer.
