Leapmotor has launched the A10s, a special-edition compact electric SUV that adds exclusive exterior styling and upgraded cabin features to the A10 lineup. Priced at 92,800 yuan ($13,810) in China, the new model retains the powertrain, battery capacity and driving range of the A10 505 LiDAR variant while introducing distinctive design details and additional comfort equipment.

The A10s, listed as the A10 505S in its specifications table, arrives as Leapmotor steps up its year-end sales efforts. Its launch follows a month-on-month decline in A10 deliveries, although the model remains an important contributor to the company’s sales.

Leapmotor A10s Price and Positioning

The Leapmotor A10s carries a list price of 92,800 yuan, placing it 6,000 yuan above the previously top-trim A10 505 LiDAR variant.

Rather than introducing a more powerful motor or a larger battery, the new version focuses on appearance and interior equipment. Buyers receive an exclusive paint finish, sportier wheel design, red detailing and additional front-seat ventilation features.

Specification Leapmotor A10s
Listed variant name A10 505S
China list price 92,800 yuan
Price premium over A10 505 LiDAR 6,000 yuan
Vehicle type Compact battery-electric SUV
Drivetrain Front-wheel drive
Motor output 90 kW (121 hp)
Battery capacity 53 kWh
CLTC driving range 505 km
Seating capacity 5

The price premium reflects the A10s’ exclusive styling and comfort upgrades rather than an increase in its core electric performance.

Exclusive Exterior Styling

The A10s receives a dedicated exterior specification that distinguishes it from other versions of the A10.

Its exclusive Mirror Night Black paint finish is paired with gunmetal-gray brand emblems, 18-inch black sport wheels and a red S badge at the rear. These details give the compact SUV a more distinctive appearance while retaining the existing model’s overall body shape.

The exterior dimensions remain unchanged, so the A10s maintains the same compact footprint as the standard A10. This keeps its proportions suited to urban driving, everyday commuting and parking in confined spaces.

Interior Design and Comfort Features

Inside, the Leapmotor A10s adopts a Modern Gray colour scheme with faux-suede seats featuring red stitching and embroidered headrests. The contrasting details carry the exterior’s sport-inspired theme into the cabin.

The main comfort upgrade is suction-type ventilation for the front seats, designed to improve airflow and occupant comfort. Rear ambient lighting is also included, adding a further cabin feature not focused solely on the driver and front passenger.

These changes give the A10s a more differentiated interior without altering the vehicle’s overall cabin layout.

Electric Motor, Battery and Driving Range

The Leapmotor A10s uses a single front-mounted electric motor producing 90 kW, equivalent to approximately 121 horsepower. Its 53 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery provides a claimed CLTC driving range of 505 km.

These specifications match those of the A10 505 LiDAR variant. As a result, the A10s does not introduce an increase in motor output or battery capacity.

Powertrain Specification Details
Motor configuration Single front-mounted motor
Maximum power 90 kW (121 hp)
Battery capacity 53 kWh
Battery chemistry Lithium iron phosphate (LFP)
Claimed driving range 505 km CLTC
Drivetrain Front-wheel drive

The 505 km figure is based on China’s CLTC test cycle. Actual driving range will depend on driving speed, temperature, road conditions, vehicle load and climate-control use.

Charging Performance

The A10s retains the charging performance of the A10 505 LiDAR variant. Leapmotor quotes approximately 16 minutes to charge the battery from 30% to 80%.

Charging Specification Leapmotor A10s
Battery capacity 53 kWh
Charging time, 30–80% Approximately 16 minutes

Charging times can vary depending on battery temperature, charger output and other operating conditions. The quoted figure represents the manufacturer’s stated performance under suitable conditions.

LiDAR and Driver Assistance Technology

The A10s includes LiDAR-based driver assistance hardware, a Qualcomm SA8295 cockpit chip and an SA8650 driver-assistance chip.

The equipment supports navigation-assisted driving functions for urban roads and highways, as well as navigation assistance from parking space to parking space. These capabilities are also available on the A10 505 LiDAR variant.

The Qualcomm SA8295 chip supports the vehicle’s digital cockpit functions, while the SA8650 is dedicated to driver-assistance computing. LiDAR adds another source of environmental information for the vehicle’s perception systems.

These technologies assist the driver rather than replace the need for supervision and control. Actual functionality can depend on software configuration, operating conditions and regional restrictions.

Dimensions and Passenger Space

The A10s retains the standard A10’s dimensions and five-seat layout. Its compact exterior is designed to balance passenger accommodation with manoeuvrability in urban environments.

Dimension Specification
Length 4,270 mm
Width 1,810 mm
Height 1,635 mm
Wheelbase 2,605 mm
Seating capacity 5

Because the body dimensions are unchanged, the A10s’ main differences from the A10 505 LiDAR are concentrated in its exterior finish, cabin materials and comfort equipment.

How the Leapmotor A10s Differs From the A10 505 LiDAR

The A10s is primarily a styling and equipment upgrade rather than a powertrain revision. Both versions use a 90 kW front-mounted motor, a 53 kWh LFP battery and a claimed 505 km CLTC range. They also share LiDAR-based driver assistance hardware and the quoted 16-minute charging time from 30% to 80%.

The main distinctions are the A10s’ exclusive Mirror Night Black finish, gunmetal-gray emblems, black sport wheels, red exterior and interior details, front-seat ventilation and rear ambient lighting.

For buyers who prioritise performance and range, the two versions offer essentially the same core specifications. The A10s is aimed instead at customers willing to pay a premium for its additional styling and comfort features.

Can the Leapmotor A10s Support the A10’s Sales Momentum?

The launch of the A10s adds a more distinctive version to Leapmotor’s compact electric SUV range at a time when the standard A10 has experienced its first month-on-month delivery decline since launch.

Its unchanged powertrain and range allow Leapmotor to build on an existing specification package, while the additional equipment provides a new reason for buyers to consider the higher-priced version.

At 92,800 yuan, the A10s costs 6,000 yuan more than the A10 505 LiDAR variant. Whether the premium proves attractive will depend on how buyers value the exclusive styling, front-seat ventilation and other cabin enhancements.

The A10s therefore expands customer choice without changing the A10’s underlying performance proposition. Its success will depend on whether the additional features are compelling enough to encourage buyers to select the special edition over the existing variant.
