The BYD Destroyer 05 was first introduced at the November 2011 Guangzhou Auto Show. The BYD Destroyer 05 has a Tesla-like large infotainment touchscreen and plenty of tech features.

The BYD Destroyer 05 is a plug-in hybrid sedan with a range of up to 120 km (75 miles). ), and is 1,495 mm (58.9 in) tall with a wheelbase of 2,718 mm (107 in).

This car also has an exterior design with thin LED headlight units, a large grille covering most of the front bumper, and an aerodynamic silhouette.

This car has the main focus on the touch screen measuring 15.6 inches combined with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.

This eco-friendly sedan comes with several buttons such as a cylinder knob for the automatic gearbox, a driving mode selector, a start-stop button, and a set of cupholders.

We can also see ambient lighting on the dashboard, red accents on the climate vents, and white upholstered seats with integrated headrests.

In this case, the Destroyer 05 comes in two plug-in hybrid variants featuring the DM-i BYD super hybrid system with two battery sizes. Both versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 109 hp (81 kW / 110 PS) and equipped with one or two electric motors for a combined output of 177 hp (132 kW / 179 PS) or 194 hp (145 kW).

The smallest battery offers an electric range of 55 km (34 miles) while the larger one allows it to travel up to 120 km (75 miles) on electric power alone. Note that the figures are likely calculated based on China's WLTC protocol.
