Everything you should know about all-new NIO ES8 with NT 2.0 platform

The latest generation of the NIO ES8 electric car has been launched at the NIO Day 2022 event which was held in Hefei, China (24/12).

The latest generation of NIO ES8 continues the progress of the previous ES8 as the biggest SUV electric car in the NIO lineup.

Developed based on the second generation NIO electric car platform, the latest NIO ES8 has better performance than before.

NIO provides the latest ES8 with two all-wheel drive electric motors capable of producing 480 kW or 643 hp and 850 Nm of torque.

In terms of performance, the NIO ES8 is also claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h 0.8 seconds faster than before, namely 4.1 seconds.

So what about the features? In short, the latest NIO ES8 is also more advanced than the previous ES8.

One of the newest ES8 sophistications can be seen from the three ‘horns’ on the roof that hide the Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensors for the NIO Autonomous Driving autonomous driving feature.

In collaboration with 32 other sensors embedded in the exterior of the ES8, the LiDAR sensor is able to detect objects and other vehicles around the car for hundreds of meters.

To operate NIO Autonomous Driving, NIO does not forget to embed the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-based supercomputer as hardware.

Oh yes, the Smart Matrix LED NIO ES8 headlights also rely on the LiDAR sensor to operate the Adaptive Headlight function.

Entering the interior, NIO ES8 certainly presents the driver and passengers with the latest features.

Call it the ES8 has a digital instrument display, a 16.3-inch color head-up display, a 12.8-inch central display head unit, and NOMI artificial intelligence.

In addition, the ES8 gets the PanoCinema audio-visual feature which integrates the ambient lighting function and a 23-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system.

Not to mention that the ES8 has a Captain Seat which has an Executive Console and a Premium Seat NIO seat.
