The 2026 BYD Song Pro DM-i has officially launched in China, introducing improved efficiency, enhanced suspension tuning, and a refreshed interior layout. Available in three variants, the plug-in hybrid SUV is priced between 99,800 and 122,800 yuan (approximately $13,700–$16,900) under a limited-time Super Trade-In offer.
With its combination of extended electric range and advanced hybrid technology, the new Song Pro DM-i continues to strengthen BYD’s leadership in the compact plug-in hybrid SUV segment.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2026 Song Pro DM-i is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, producing 74 kW and 120 kW respectively. The system delivers a pure-electric range of 133 km (CLTC) and a total driving range of 1,508 km. Fuel consumption in hybrid mode is rated at just 3.2 L/100 km (NEDC), demonstrating BYD’s continued optimization of its DM-i super hybrid technology.

The vehicle features a front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension, tuned for improved ride comfort and stability. Combined with an active front grille for better cooling and aerodynamics, the Song Pro DM-i achieves notable gains in efficiency and overall refinement.
Exterior and Design
Design-wise, the 2026 Song Pro DM-i retains the recognizable proportions of the Song family but refines them with subtle aerodynamic and visual updates. The active front grille improves thermal management, while the sculpted lines and balanced stance maintain the model’s sleek yet practical character. The exterior embodies BYD’s “Dynasty” family design philosophy, combining modern detailing with functional aerodynamics to enhance efficiency and visual appeal.

Interior and Technology
Inside, the cabin introduces a new column-mounted gear selector to free up console space, giving the dashboard a cleaner and more ergonomic design. The center console has been reworked with premium materials, while the digital setup now includes an 8.8-inch instrument cluster and either a 12.8-inch or 15.6-inch rotating central touchscreen powered by BYD’s DiLink 100 infotainment system.
Physical buttons remain for essential driving controls such as EV/HEV mode switching, drive selection, and automatic parking. Entertainment and smart-cabin features include karaoke mode, in-car games, screen casting, navigation handover, and motion-based dynamic themes for a more interactive experience.

The 2026 Song Pro DM-i also comes equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye C” driver-assistance suite, which includes highway navigation assist, enhanced parking automation, and surround monitoring to improve driving safety and convenience.
Trims, Pricing, and Market Positioning
With pricing between 99,800 and 122,800 yuan, the Song Pro DM-i delivers high value for its class, offering long-range hybrid performance with refined comfort and technology. It continues to serve as a core model in BYD’s DM-i lineup, appealing to families and urban professionals seeking efficiency without sacrificing practicality.
In the first half of 2025, BYD sold 133,919 units of the Song Pro DM-i in China, reaffirming its popularity in the compact SUV category.
