UK-based EV conversion specialist Everrati has revealed the details of its latest creation, the zero-emission Mercedes-Benz SL W113 ‘Pagoda’. Known for its timeless elegance and collectibility, the Mercedes-Benz SL ‘Pagoda’ has been owned by numerous celebrities over the years, solidifying its status as an automotive icon since its debut in 1963.
Everrati has taken on the task of redefining this masterpiece, painstakingly restoring it to concours standards while equipping it with a cutting-edge electric powertrain developed in-house. The result is a handcrafted luxury grand tourer that combines the classic charm of the original SL ‘Pagoda’ with modern, sustainable technology.
The electric conversion by Everrati integrates seamlessly with the original design of the SL ‘Pagoda’, enhancing its performance and driving dynamics. The conversion includes the optimization of weight and weight distribution, ensuring that the vehicle’s handling and safety remain intact. Moreover, the conversion is fully reversible, preserving the vehicle’s value and flexibility for future owners.
The redefined SL ‘Pagoda’ is offered with two versions of Everrati’s proprietary electric powertrain. The standard version features a 54.4kWh battery, providing 160 miles of range and a 0-60mph time of under 8.0 seconds. For those seeking greater performance and range, a ‘Touring’ version is available, equipped with a larger 68kWh battery that offers over 200 miles of range and a sub-7.0 second 0-60mph time.
Inside, the redefined SL ‘Pagoda’ can be customized with luxurious leather upholstery from Everrati’s partner, Bridge of Weir, known for producing the world’s lowest carbon leather for the automotive industry. The interior can also be equipped with modern conveniences such as Bluetooth-controlled high-end audio and heated seats, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
Justin Lunny, Everrati Co-Founder and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the redefined SL ‘Pagoda’, stating, “Our redefined electric Mercedes-Benz SL ‘Pagoda’ is the new benchmark for understated, sustainable luxury. This meticulously restored and redefined car is the ultimate two-seater electric luxury grand tourer, a unique proposition which pays homage to the history of the legendary SL ‘Pagoda’, yet is fully future-proofed, enabling it to be enjoyed today – and in the hands of the next generation tomorrow.”
