The eTrucker app, developed by German electric truck driver Tobias Wagner and his team, has expanded its coverage to five additional European countries and introduced new features designed to support long-haul drivers.

Initially launched to help truckers find compatible charging stations, the free app is now available in Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Romania, broadening its reach across Europe. Michael Clarke, one of the developers, said in a LinkedIn post: “We are pleased to announce that the eTrucker app is now available in Spain, Portugal, the UK, Belgium and Romania. This means we’ve essentially covered all of Europe! Many thanks to Tobias for paving the way for everyone!”

Wagner, who drove more than 100,000 km across Europe in electric trucks last year, said the app was born from the challenges truck drivers faced when using tools designed for cars. Many lacked critical details such as entrance widths, trailer suitability or space conditions, forcing companies to build their own lists. “It quickly became clear that a specialised tool would be needed to navigate the increasingly complex world of EV charging infrastructure,” he said.

The app, available on iOS and Android, aggregates information from public databases and charging point operators, making it easier for drivers to access details such as opening hours, maximum charging capacity and whether trailers need to be uncoupled. The latest update adds integrated route display and temporary warning signs to highlight important information. Clarke noted differences between markets, writing: “Spain, for example, is my new favourite country for truck charging, while the UK is surprisingly far behind.”
