Elon Musk’s statement replied to a tweet showing data on the world’s wind power capacity. China itself has the largest wind power capacity in the world, which is 328,973 MW.
China’s wind power capacity is 148 percent higher than the United States, which is in second place at 132,738 MW. Germany is third with wind power capacity of 63,760 MW, India fourth with 40,067 MW, Spain fifth with 27,497 MW and the UK sixth with 27,130 MW.
Few seem to realize that China is leading the world in renewable energy generation and electric vehicles. Whatever you may think of China, this is simply a fact.

Earlier this month, Tesla CEO Elon at the ‘Financial Times Future of the Car’ meeting, said that China is a land of very talented people. He said Americans don’t want to work while their Chinese counterparts are much better at getting the job done.
China, which is the world’s largest auto market, also maintains a leading position in the electric vehicle sector. In 2021 China sold 3.521 million NEV (New Energy Vehicles), up 160 percent compared to 2020.
Tesla itself has an electric vehicle production facility in Shanghai which is the first outside the United States. Giga Shanghai is currently experiencing supply chain issues and lockdowns due to Covid-19.
Tesla itself will build a new factory near Shanghai’s Giga that will add 450,000 vehicles to their annual production capacity, Reuters reported earlier this month. Giga Shanhai’s total production capacity will be 1 million vehicles per year, a subsequent report by the China Securities Journal said.
