Electric Era has introduced a new AI-enabled platform aimed at transforming electric vehicle (EV) charging at retail locations such as convenience stores, grocers, and restaurants.
The platform, called Retailer AI, integrates voice-activated technology and machine learning to personalize the charging experience, providing concierge-style services and offering new marketing opportunities for businesses.
The system is designed to recognize individual vehicles, assess battery status, validate loyalty programs, and suggest promotions, creating a tailored user experience.
Through voice-guided assistance, users can access charging updates, locate nearby amenities, place orders, and process payments directly from the charging screen. It also connects to retailers’ point-of-sale systems to offer product recommendations and discounts during charging sessions.
Electric Era’s battery-backed fast-charging technology allows quicker installations, reducing setup time by up to 75% for retrofits and 50% for new builds, while maintaining industry-leading reliability levels—90% session success and 99% per-port uptime, second only to Tesla. The company, which already supports large retail clients like Costco and Giant Eagle, plans to roll out the Retailer AI platform at select locations in 2025.
The new system is part of Electric Era’s broader effort to redefine EV charging as an extension of the retail experience. With high user satisfaction and a growing reputation for innovation, the company aims to position itself at the forefront of smart, accessible EV infrastructure as the market continues to expand.
