Electreon said it plans to acquire U.S.-based InductEV, marking a potential consolidation in the wireless electric-vehicle charging sector. The Israeli company said it has signed a letter of intent to purchase InductEV’s assets, initiating a process that remains subject to due diligence, final agreements and regulatory approval.
Under the proposed deal, Electreon aims to integrate its dynamic and stationary inductive charging systems with InductEV’s high-power static platforms. The company said the combined offering is intended to deliver a full suite of wireless charging solutions for passenger cars, buses, heavy trucks and autonomous vehicles. Electreon added that the merged operation would bring together roughly 400 existing and pending patents from both firms.

Electreon, which provides medium- to high-power charging including systems that operate while vehicles are in motion, said InductEV’s focus on ultra-fast stationary charging—such as for electric buses during brief dwell times—would complement its existing product line. The company said the integration could make wireless charging “smarter, faster, scalable and more economical” for fleet operators, reflecting advancements both firms have pursued in recent years.
Details regarding conditions for the final agreement were not disclosed, with Electreon noting that completion will also require approval from authorities, which could impose measures due to the concentrated market power that the combined company might hold.

InductEV CEO John F. Rizzo said he believes wireless charging “will redefine how fleets operate,” adding that Electreon’s global reach supports that vision.
