French EV charging provider Electra has extended its summer promotional pricing to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, offering app-based fast charging at €0.39 or CHF 0.39 per kilowatt hour from 13 August until 30 September 2025. The move follows a similar initiative launched in Italy earlier this summer.
The discounted rate applies exclusively to users charging through the Electra app. Drivers not registered through the app will continue to pay the ad-hoc price of €0.69/kWh. Prior to the latest update, Electra had already reduced the rate for app users in Germany from €0.59/kWh to €0.49/kWh in early July.
Electra’s Country Manager for Germany, Paul Tonini, noted that the decision to expand the offer was influenced by positive feedback in the Italian market. “We saw how well our summer offer was received in Italy – now we want to offer drivers in the DACH region an attractive holiday deal,” he said. Tonini added that the company wants to make electric travel during the summer holidays more practical and affordable.
Electra, which has mainly operated in France and Belgium, began its expansion into the German market in May 2025 with its first high-power charging (HPC) site in Gräfelfing near Munich. A second site followed in Dortmund. The company’s distinctive site design includes lighting masts that also display charger availability, a feature aimed at improving the charging experience. Electra plans to open hundreds of charging parks across Germany in the coming years as it accelerates its regional expansion.
