Chinese electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) developer Ehang said it will unveil its new VT35 aircraft on October 13, expanding its product portfolio as it pushes deeper into urban air mobility.
The VT35, a long-range lift-and-cruise passenger model, will be introduced two years after Ehang’s flagship EH216-S received its Type Certificate. The company released only promotional posters showing the silhouette of the new aircraft and has not disclosed technical details.
Ehang previously said the VT35 was undergoing internal testing and flight trials, with a debut originally targeted for September. It is also working with the Hefei municipal government in Anhui province to establish a dedicated VT35 hub for research, testing, manufacturing, certification, and supply chain management. The initiative has attracted about 500 million yuan ($70.2 million) in government support, including product orders, investment, and industrial partnerships.
One of China’s earliest eVTOL manufacturers, Ehang has focused on the EH216 series passenger aircraft while also offering the VT20 logistics model. The company has pioneered an intercity drone logistics route between Zhuhai and Guangzhou spanning 83 kilometers.
In the second quarter of 2025, Ehang delivered 68 EH216 units to 13 clients in China and Japan, and secured more than 150 new orders. The EH216-S is now deployed at more than 40 sites globally, with over 10,000 flights completed in the first half of the year.
The company posted second-quarter revenue of 147 million yuan and reported a net loss of 81 million yuan.
