ROKiT Venturi Racing driver, Edoardo Mortara, has successfully led the 2022 Formula E standings. Mortara leads the standings, after picking up 25 points as the winner of the 2022 Formula E Marrakesh at Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan, Morocco.
This achievement brings Edoardo Mortara 11 points ahead of DS Techeetah driver, Jean-Eric Vergne, who is now in second place in the 2022 Formula E standings.
Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes EQ), which was previously firmly at the top of the standings, had to be willing to drop to third place with 125 points.
The Belgian driver was only able to finish in eighth place in the 2022 Formula E Marrakesh, after starting the race from 20th position due to technical problems.
Meanwhile, the winners of the 2022 Formula E Jakarta, namely Mitch Evans (TCS Jaguar) and Robin Frijns (Envision Racing), stayed in fourth and fifth positions in the standings.
Edoardo Mortara’s victory and teammate Lucas Di Grassi’s fifth place also brought the Venturi Racing team to the top of the team standings.
The team from Monaco is slightly ahead of DS Techeetah who is entrenched in second position. In total, Venturi Racing has collected 205 points while DS Techeetah is at 203 points.
Like Vandoorne, the team where he belongs, namely Mercedes EQ, has also dropped from the top of the team standings to position 3. Not surprisingly, considering that the two Mercedes EQ drivers Nyck De Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne did not make it to the top five in Formula E Marrakesh 2022.
While Jaguar and Porsche are stable in fourth and fifth positions in the provisional team standings of the 2022 Formula E.
