Drako Dragon claimed to be fastest electric SUV with output of 1491 kW

Electric car start-up from California, Drako, recently showed off its newest electric SUV which claims to be the most powerful and fastest in history, called the Draco Dragon.

This electric SUV is the second unit launched by Drako after the Fisker Karma-based GTE sedan. This SUV is capable of spitting out enormous power, which is up to 1491 kW from its four electric motors.

With this much power output, Drako Dragon is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of more than 322 km/h (200 miles/hour).

This electric motor is powered by a battery pack capable of fast charging 500 kW and a range of up to 676 km.

This electric SUV is equipped with an adaptive suspension that can raise and lower the vehicle depending on the selected driving mode.

Braking power is provided by large 420mm carbon ceramic disc brakes with 10-piston calipers up front and a 410mm disc and six-piston unit at the rear.

Other exterior features include functional front air vents in the hood to reduce drag, rear struts that allow air to pass through, and even rally lights on the roof.

The chassis is made of a carbon fiber monocoque mounted on natural fiber composite body panels.

Inside, there is seating for five passengers while a centrally mounted 17.1-inch touchscreen provides monitoring and configuration of the Dragon system.

The driver’s digital instrument display can be adjusted along with programmable steering wheel controls.

For the price, Drako Dragon is priced starting at $US290,000. Drako also provides customization options for this SUV at an additional price.

Dragon production will be carried out in the US with a planned 5,000 vehicles per year.
