Dodge wont allow third party tuning for its electric muscle cars

Entering the automotive industry of the future, Dodge is ready to welcome it with a new muscle car. However, now they want to come up with a different driving force, leaving the internal combustion engine that is less friendly to the environment, in order to introduce a new electrification power.

Of course, many different responses came from automotive fans, especially lovers of the Dodge brand who for years knew the car from the manufacturer as a ‘beast’. Dodge has always been known to produce monster engines with large capacities and a booming and melodious exhaust system.

Moreover, Dodge gasoline engine cars are loved because the engine is easy to tweak or modify, in order to get even more power. Not a few people modify Dodge cars to be launched on the track.

However, bad news for automotive lovers. Because the latest Dodge cars in the future will not be friendly to modification workshops. In the future, Dodge electric cars will not allow their owners to alter, modify, or tamper with their electrification systems.

As reported by the Motor1 page, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis revealed that the reason behind the restrictions was for Dodge owners to modify and tune their cars properly. Dodge wants to make sure that no unwanted damage occurs due to the wrong way of modification.

Chassis and body modifications are certainly allowed. However, in terms of added power and better handling, future owners will need to visit a Dodge dealer for more professional and guaranteed handling, to get the maximum performance out of their car.

Kuniskis also revealed another reason, that because electric cars require less maintenance than gasoline-powered cars, the company has the potential to lose more revenue than in the era of internal combustion engines.

Therefore, Dodge hopes that with the battery and electric motor modification services provided by the manufacturer, the company can replace the lost revenue.
