Denza, the joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, has been making waves with its luxury electric vehicles. The brand’s Denza D9 MPV, the industry’s largest ever grille, has been on the market for some time now. But, the company has now announced the release of its highly-anticipated SUV – the N7.
The N7 SUV is a “world-class” vehicle that has been teased by the brand for quite some time now. Finally, the first official photos of the production SUV have been unveiled, and it’s a relief to see that it looks really good. In fact, it’s a game-changer for the electric vehicle industry.
Design Features of the Denza N7 SUV
The production N7 SUV looks a lot like the Inception prototype that was first unveiled in August 2022, which is a very good thing. The design features clear influences from Porsche, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Lotus Eletre, resulting in a stunning electric SUV that looks nothing like an SUV.

Dual Charging Ports and LiDAR Sensors
While there are no technical details available about the N7 SUV yet, we can glean some interesting solutions from the photos. First, the vehicle comes with dual charging ports – one on each side, a feature first seen on the Denza D9. It’s a convenient feature as the driver doesn’t need to worry about which side to pull up next to the charger. Dual ports also support dual charging, which significantly speeds up the entire charging process.
There are also dual LiDAR sensors in the front bumper, which is a similar setup to the updated XPeng P7i. These sensors enable the vehicle to have a better perception of its surroundings, making it safer to drive.
Expected Release and Price
The Shanghai Auto Show is approaching, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Denza unveils the N7 SUV there. As for the price, the general manager of Denza has suggested that the car will be priced around RMB 400,000 ($57,800) to compete with ICE cars from the same segment.

Denza’s Future
Although Denza was established by Mercedes and BYD in 2011 as a 50/50 joint venture, BYD increased its stake in the company to 90% last year. The Denza D9 MPV has proven to be very popular with customers, with the company selling 7,325 units in February alone.
The N7 SUV will undoubtedly add to Denza’s popularity, and it’s exciting to see the brand’s continued growth and innovation in the electric vehicle industry. With its sleek design and innovative features, the N7 SUV is sure to turn heads and set the bar high for future electric SUVs.
