Denza, the premium electric vehicle brand under Chinese automaker BYD, announced that the 10,000th unit of its flagship N9 SUV has rolled off the production line, just two months after the model was officially launched.
The milestone was shared via Denza’s official Weibo account, highlighting rapid production progress for the luxury six-seat SUV, which debuted on March 21. The N9 is available in two variants, priced at RMB 389,800 ($54,090) and RMB 449,800 respectively.
Positioned as Denza’s top-tier model, the N9 measures 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. The hybrid SUV is powered by BYD’s e3 technology — a tri-motor system with independent drive and rear-wheel steering — enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The e3 platform is a derivative of BYD’s higher-end e4 technology, used in its ultra-luxury offerings.
The N9 enters a competitive segment, going up against models such as Li Auto’s Li L9, starting at RMB 409,800, and Aito’s M9, priced from RMB 469,800.
Denza’s broader sales momentum also showed strong growth. The company sold 15,388 units in April, up 38.36% year-on-year and a 21.93% increase from March, according to data compiled by CnEVPost. Of that total, 5,018 units were N9s, followed by 9,045 units of the D9 MPV, 1,023 of the Z9 series, and 302 units of the N7 SUV.
