Denza, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under BYD, has started mass production of its latest model, the Denza N9, with the sport utility vehicle (SUV) set to reach showrooms soon, the company announced on Friday.
“The first production cars of the Denza N9 have officially rolled off the production line, and the model is packed with technologies for intelligence and safety,” Denza said in a statement on its official Weibo account. “The Denza N9 redefines a new standard of mobility for large flagship SUVs.”

Zhao Changjiang, head of sales at Denza, confirmed that the vehicle is gradually being dispatched to dealerships across China.
The N9 is a six-seat hybrid SUV measuring 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, according to a previous regulatory filing. The model is equipped with three electric motors, including a 200-kW front motor and two 240-kW rear motors, alongside a 1,995-ml engine with a peak power of 152 kW.

Denza, which currently offers models including the N7 SUV, Z9 sedan, Z9GT hatchback, and D9 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), first previewed the N9 in October 2024. Zhao said at the time that the SUV would feature BYD’s e3 technology, a scaled-down version of the e4 technology designed for ultra-luxury vehicles.
