German vehicle inspection company DEKRA and Chinese electric truck manufacturer Windrose have announced a cooperation agreement aimed at supporting safety standards for electric and automated transport systems across several global regions.

The collaboration will cover areas such as battery and vehicle safety testing, battery state-of-health diagnostics using DEKRA’s proprietary methods, and the use of DEKRA’s international network to support Windrose operations in Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia.

According to a joint statement, the partnership seeks to support the implementation of consistent safety practices in new energy and autonomous vehicle technologies. “DEKRA and Windrose will drive harmonised safety standards across multiple markets, ensuring that the latest advancements in electrification and automation are implemented seamlessly on a global scale,” the companies said.

In addition to vehicle and battery testing, the partnership will focus on the validation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the development of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, with the aim of facilitating information exchange between vehicles, infrastructure, and other road users.

Windrose, a newer entrant in the commercial electric vehicle sector, previously announced plans to establish assembly plants in Georgia, United States, and Belgium. The collaboration with DEKRA builds on the company’s efforts to meet regulatory requirements in international markets.

Both companies plan to engage with authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry partners to support the integration of emerging technologies in line with applicable safety frameworks.
