Deepal, the new energy vehicle (NEV) arm of Changan Automobile, has opened pre-sales for its L06 midsize sedan, following its public debut in September. The launch marks Deepal’s continued expansion in China’s competitive electric vehicle segment, with the L06 designed to offer a blend of performance, technology, and affordability.

The L06 measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Currently, only battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions are available, although extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants were showcased at the September 8 unveiling. Four BEV variants are being offered during pre-sales, priced at RMB 139,900 ($19,670), RMB 149,900, RMB 151,900, and RMB 161,900.

The L06 features a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, producing 200 kW (268 horsepower) and 290 Nm of torque, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. It is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CATL, offering 56.12-kWh and 68.82-kWh options that deliver CLTC ranges of 560 km and 670 km, respectively. The vehicle supports fast charging, achieving a 30–80 percent charge in about 15 minutes.

A standout feature of the L06 is its magnetorheological suspension system, typically found in high-performance vehicles. This technology uses a magnetic fluid that transitions into a semi-solid state under a magnetic field, enabling real-time adaptive suspension adjustments across various driving conditions. In addition, the L06 comes standard with LiDAR, enabling urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) capabilities.
