Decathlon Unveils BTWIN Electric Family Cargo Bike F900E for Four Passengers

Decathlon has introduced the BTWIN Electric Family Cargo Bike F900E, designed to accommodate larger families with the capacity to transport up to four children simultaneously. The model, now listed on Decathlon’s European websites, offers a range of features tailored to family needs.

The BTWIN F900E comes with a Long John cargo carrier at the front, equipped with a two-person bench and a one-person folding seat. Additionally, it features a door, windshield, and retractable rain protector, providing a comfortable and safe environment for children. For families with a fourth child, a baby seat can be fitted to the bike’s rear pannier rack.

The cargo bike boasts a high maximum capacity, excluding the bike’s weight, of 184 kg (~405 lbs), with specific weight limits of 27 kg (~60 lbs) on the pannier rack and 101.5 kg (~225 lbs) at the front. It is powered by a mid-mounted 250W Brose S Mag motor, delivering up to 90Nm of torque and a top assistance speed of 25 kph (~16 mph). The bike’s 630Wh lithium-ion battery provides a range of 40 to 80 km (25 to 50 miles) on a single charge, with a four-hour full recharge time.

The F900E features a color display showing various information, including time and remaining battery level, and offers 4G connectivity for GPS tracking via smartphone. The first year of this service is free, with a subsequent charge of €2 (~£1.70) per month. The bike is equipped with a 50 mm travel aluminum suspension fork for enhanced ride comfort, as well as Tektro MH535 hydraulic disc brakes for reliable braking performance in diverse weather conditions.

Additional features include a ringlock-type frame lock, storage compartments, a headlight, mudguards, and a kickstand. The low step-through frame, available in a taupe shade named Frozen Brown, is suitable for riders between 1.55 and 1.95 m (~5’1″ and 6’4″) tall. The Decathlon BTWIN Electric Family Cargo Bike F900E is priced at around €4,999.99/£4,999.99 in Europe, although it is currently out of stock with no confirmed sale date.
