Decathlon has unveiled two new mid-range e-scooters in Europe: the BTWIN SD500e and BTWIN MD500e. Both models feature a 350W brushless motor that allows for a top speed of 25 kph (approximately 16 mph), operated via a thumb throttle.

The primary distinction between the two models lies in their battery packs. The BTWIN SD500e is equipped with a 5.2Ah battery, providing a predicted range of 25 km (about 16 miles), while the BTWIN MD500e offers a larger 10.4Ah battery for an extended range of up to 35 km (approximately 22 miles).

Both scooters include a front engine brake and a rear disc brake, along with a display mounted between the handlebars that indicates current speed, power mode, and remaining battery level. They are fitted with 10-inch tubeless tires designed to be puncture-resistant, enhancing ride comfort. Additional features include a headlight, kickstand, and bell.

In terms of aesthetics, the SD500e comes in a gray finish, while the MD500e is available in black. Each scooter weighs around 16.2 kg (approximately 35.7 lbs) and is rated IPX5 for water resistance, making them splashproof. Decathlon recommends a maximum height of 1.95 m (about 6 feet 5 inches) and a maximum load capacity of 100 kg (approximately 220 lbs).

The BTWIN SD500e and MD500e are priced at €299 and €399, respectively.
