Daimler has just introduced the Mercedes-Benz Intouro bus with a hybrid module. This bus is an inter-city transportation that can support bus entrepreneurs to continue to reduce fuel consumption which is already economical.

The hybrid module will be available for all models of the two-axle bus with an automatic transmission featuring a torque converter from the extensive Intouro range.

This hybrid bus debuted with the intercity bus variant, the Intouro K. This also indicates that Daimler will soon expand the range of each variant of the Mercedes-Benz Intouro bus, from the performance and maneuvering sector to the embedded technology sector.

Mirko Sgodda, Head of Sales Marketing and Customer Services at Daimler Buses said that the new Intouro K hybrid bus has become a versatile bus model for its customers, both for inter-city buses and other applications.

“With its hybrid technology, tangible consumption benefits can be achieved which means we are realizing a very important goal. We optimize our already economical and low-emission combustion engines, while keeping profitability and environmental protection in mind,” explains Mirko.

The bus which has a turning radius of 18.34 m can be adjusted very easily which makes it ideal for mountain trips, winding roads or for outings with small groups. This bus measures 10,745 mm in length, 11,070 mm in width and 2,534 mm in height.

This Mercedes-Benz Intouro K hybrid has the outstanding characteristics of the Intouro bus family which provides a wide range of application options for every bus requirement. This can be seen in the appearance which has single and double wide entrances and has two different lifts for passengers with limited mobility.

Not only that, this bus also has many seating options which in total has 47 passenger seats and luggage storage options for the interior. The Intouro driver area, which has also been completely ergonomically constructed and driver-oriented, is typical for Mercedes-Benz buses. From visuals to controls and instrumentation including color displays, this bus has a high-quality cockpit as luxurious as a coach bus.
