DAF Trucks to Supply at Least 75 Electric Trucks to British Truck Rental Company in UK

DAF Trucks, a Dutch manufacturer, has been awarded a contract by the British truck rental company Asset Alliance to supply at least 75 electric trucks in the UK. This forms part of a larger order for 1,500 new trucks, with deliveries set to begin this year. The electric trucks, from DAF’s latest generation XF, XG and XG+ vehicles, boast ranges of up to 500 km, and production is due to commence in the spring of 2023.

The XD Electric is designed for heavy distribution transport and has e-drives producing between 170 and 350 kW, and a range of battery packs for distances of 200 to over 500 km, which can be charged with up to 325 kW. Meanwhile, the LF Electric is designed for distribution transport, with a range of 270 km, making it suitable for inner-city and regional distribution. The LF Electric has already been on offer since September 2021 and is a 19-tonne truck with two axles and a payload of 11,700 kilograms.
