Stellantis’ Citroen brand has presented the ELO, an all-electric concept vehicle designed as a highly modular and compact minivan, which the company describes as an “ideas laboratory.”
The ELO, measuring 4.10 meters in length, is intended to reimagine the vehicle as a multi-purpose living space that facilitates travel, relaxation, leisure, and work. The name ELO is an acronym for the concept’s core functions: REST, PLAY, WORK.

The design prioritizes interior volume and function over traditional automotive form, offering a surprisingly spacious cabin capable of accommodating up to six people, despite its compact exterior footprint, which is comparable to that of a small hatchback.
The interior is highly adaptable: the driver’s seat can rotate 360 degrees to face the rear for conversation or work, and two additional seats can be folded out when needed. Furthermore, the ELO can be converted into a sleeping space for two or a home cinema.

The vehicle’s electric architecture, which positions the powertrain on the rear axle, is credited with maximizing the interior space. Its distinctive silhouette features semi-circular rear doors that extend to the roof, contributing to a total of 4.5 square meters of glass for optimal light intake.
For outdoor and leisure activities, the ELO is equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing the traction battery to function as a power source for external devices such as electric grills or speakers. An integrated underfloor compressor is also included for inflating items like bicycle tires or swimming floats.

Citroen CEO Xavier Chardon emphasized the concept’s alignment with the brand’s heritage and future direction. “ELO is an ideas laboratory that perfectly embodies Citroen’s values and opens up perspectives on what drives our thinking today. It ticks all the boxes of what has been the brand’s DNA for more than 100 years and what I want to nurture in the coming years: creative, bold, accessible, responsible, ingenious and dedicated to well-being,” Chardon said.
Citroen has not released specific technical specifications for the show car, such as battery capacity or driving range. The ELO is set to make its public debut at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9. It follows the brand’s previous utilitarian concept, the OLI, introduced in 2022.
