Citroen Racing has confirmed that Jean-Éric Vergne and Nick Cassidy will represent the team in its debut campaign in the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The announcement follows Citroen’s recent confirmation that it will enter Formula E from Season 12.

Vergne, a two-time and consecutive Formula E Drivers’ champion, joins Citroen Racing after an eight-season stint with DS PENSKE. The 35-year-old Frenchman has competed in every Formula E season, holds the record for most consecutive starts at 144, and is sixth in all-time wins. Vergne also balances his Formula E commitments with a seat in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Peugeot, having previously raced in Formula 1 for Toro Rosso.

Citroen highlighted the move as a strategic step into a “new challenge” in electric motorsport. The company said, “Citroen is returning to motorsport, an arena that shaped its history and legend – motorsport in its most visionary form: an 100% electric, responsible and committed competition with popular races in the heart of cities, a young, committed, connected audience and a technological, international showcase for the future of mobility.”

The team will take part in pre-season testing at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia from 27-30 October, which includes the Women’s Test on 31 October. Citroen Racing will have its first official race in the Season 12 opener in São Paulo on 6 December.
