Li Auto led the pack with 50,400 deliveries, marking a significant 137.1 percent year-on-year increase. Xpeng and LeapMotor followed closely with 20,100 and 18,600 deliveries, experiencing growth rates of 78.1 percent and 119 percent, respectively.
Moreover, traditional automakers’ incubated new energy brands have sustained their positive momentum. GAC’s Aion achieved substantial success by selling 46,000 vehicles in December 2023, reflecting a noteworthy 53 percent year-on-year increase.
The cumulative sales for the year surpassed 480,000 vehicles, marking a 77 percent year-on-year surge. Chang’an Auto’s Deepal achieved a new annual high by delivering 18,000 vehicles in December, while Geely Auto’s Zeekr recorded 13,000 new car sales in the same month, indicating a 2.84 percent month-on-month increase. Geely’s cumulative deliveries for 2023 reached 119,000 vehicles, demonstrating a commendable 65 percent year-on-year growth.
Zhang Yongwei, the vice-chairman and secretary-general of the China EV 100, shared insights during a recent media communication conference, stating that the competitive landscape of the automotive industry is undergoing a profound reshaping.
