Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio (NYSE: NIO) has inaugurated its latest showroom, Nio Space, at Gate Avenue in Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), bolstering its expansion into the Middle East market.

“This milestone marks a significant step forward in Nio’s expansion plan in the UAE, reinforcing its commitment to redefining the premium electric vehicle experience in the region,” Nio stated.

The Nio Space in Dubai is the company’s 439th globally and its second in the UAE, following the November 2024 launch of Nio House in Abu Dhabi. Nio’s showrooms highlight its lineup of smart electric vehicles, including the flagship six-seat SUV ES8, locally branded as the EL8, alongside the coupe SUV EC6 and the mid-size sedan ET5.

“The opening of Nio Space is a pivotal moment in our journey to establish Nio in the Middle East. DIFC, with its forward-thinking ethos, is the ideal location to showcase our vision for smart electric mobility,” said Roberto Lopes Da Silva, General Manager of Nio UAE.

Nio’s Middle East expansion began with the October 2024 establishment of Nio MENA in collaboration with Abu Dhabi-based CYVN Holdings. The UAE serves as Nio’s entry point to the region, with a focus on advanced autonomous driving systems and battery swap technology.

Nio’s battery replacement system was also showcased at the Dubai showroom, underlining its ambition to innovate sustainable mobility solutions and solidify its presence in the MENA market.
