Chinese EV company Nio has entered the mobile technology business

One of the popular electric vehicle companies from China, Nio, has reportedly entered the cellular technology scene. The company is called Nio Mobile Technologies Co. Ltd. is now officially registered. The entity is wholly owned by Nio and has complied with the necessary regulatory requirements. The new company has a registered model of $100 million.

The legal representative of the new Nio technology company is Qin Lihong, co-founder and current president of Nio. The registered address of Nio Mobile Technologies is Nio’s global headquarters in Anting, Shanghai.

The new company is officially a developer of AI software and hardware. It is the first Nio subsidiary to specifically target the mobile technology business. The Nio phone is rumored to be coming next year. CEO Nio said that the company plans to develop a phone that will be launched once a year.

Nio already has substantial capabilities in mobile technology through its electric vehicles. These models take advantage of state-of-the-art technology to deliver an extraordinary Nio electric car experience. When it arrives, it is hoped that the Nio phone will fit into the Nio car ecosystem and provide a smooth driving experience. There has been no definite official statement from Nio regarding his cellphone.

On the other hand, it’s likely that the Nio phone could be fun to look at. It will likely build on Nio’s beautiful electric vehicle design and incorporate an array of interesting features. There is also speculation that the Nio phone will be cheaper than the iPhone.

Nio is not the first Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer to have tried to venture into other segments of the tech market. Last year, BYD launched a smartwatch that could be used to unlock its cars.
