The Chinese automotive invasion of Europe continues with the imminent arrival of the Seres 3 in the United Kingdom this spring. IA Electric Vehicles will be the distributor for the crossover, which is expected to be priced from £29,995, undercutting competitors such as the £30,195 BYD Dolphin and the £30,495 MG ZS, as well as several EVs from European brands.

IA Electric Vehicles has provided limited details about the Seres 3 but has confirmed that the entry-level Active trim will come generously equipped with features such as a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, keyless ignition, air conditioning, leather-style seats, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The crossover is also expected to feature LED lighting units and 18-inch alloy wheels.

For £31,995, buyers can upgrade to the Seres 3 Spirit, which includes heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, a panoramic sunroof, a passive entry system, power folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and an upgraded audio system with six speakers.

Powering the Seres 3 is a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, paired with a motor producing 161 hp (120 kW / 163 PS) and 144 lb-ft (195 Nm) of torque. This setup allows the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 96 mph (155 km/h).

The Seres 3 is expected to offer a combined WLTP range of 205 miles (330 km) and a city range of 315 miles (507 km). When the battery is low, it can be charged from 20% to 80% in as little as 30 minutes.

In terms of safety, the standard model comes with six airbags, stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. However, features like cruise control and a lane departure warning system are only available on the Spirit trim, which may be disappointing to some potential buyers.
