According to data from the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, 1.6 million charging stations have been built throughout China. This number beats all countries in the world.

2021 is the year with the addition of the most Charging Stations, which is as many as 936,000 charging stations established to assist the use of electric cars.

Still from the same data, as many as 43 percent of Charging Stations that were established were in public places. The rest are made in business areas and trade centers. There are two types of plugs provided, namely AC and DC. Only 589 charging stations have two AC and DC plugs at once.

The achievements made by China are indeed quite fantastic. The reason is that when compared to other countries, no one has been able to match it. Based on Statista data, the United States only had 113,600 charging stations as of January 2022.

It's just that the number is quite sufficient because the population of electric cars in the United States has not reached millions as is the case in China. Likewise when compared to the electric car paradise, Norway. Statista says the number of charging stations in the Scandinavian country has only reached 16,000. It's just that this number is ideal to support the total population of electric cars which has only reached 400,000 units.

The high establishment of charging stations in China occurs because the use of electric cars in China is fairly large. As of 2021 ZoZo Go said there were 3.3 million electric cars circulating in China.

This makes the private sector very interested in building charging stations. Because the business potential is quite large. Car News China said there were 13 private companies that became charging stations operators in China.

“In 2021, electricity consumption at charging stations will reach 11.15 billion kWh. An increase of 58 percent from 2020. The increasing demand for electric cars makes the need for supporting infrastructure like a snowball business,” wrote Car News China.
