Chery Holding inaugurates super factory in China, ready for electric vehicle production

Not to be outdone by Tesla, which owns a Gigafactory to produce electric cars, Chery Holding, recently also inaugurated the super factory they founded in Jimo District, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.

The presence of the factory is not just to complete their production line up alone. However, it has been mapped to be ready to produce conventional-engined cars and electric cars.

Standing on an area of ​​260,000 square meters, the Chery Holding factory is equipped with qualified facilities, including for stamping, welding, painting, final assembly, Research and Development centers, test and detection facilities, and skid pads.

The production line of the assembly facility will simultaneously produce conventional cars and electric cars. No half-hearted, for its own production target, Chery Holding has set to produce as many as 200,000 units per year.

In addition, the super factory is also expected to achieve an annual production value of 38 billion Yuan. With the establishment of this factory, they also partnered with more than 20 other companies to support the industrial chain in the region.

The ground breaking of this assembly center was first carried out in June 2021, after which it took them 17 months for this super factory to stand up and produce its first vehicle.

During the first 10 months of 2022, Chery Holding managed to sell more than 1 million vehicles and managed to pocket a profit of USD 23.4 billion.
