ChargePlace Scotland, the national EV charging network, has partnered with Zapmap to provide users with seamless access to in-app payments and an extensive charging network. The collaboration integrates ChargePlace’s 2,800+ charge points into Zapmap’s platform, offering live data on charger availability and enabling quick, cashless payments via Zap-Pay.
To use the service, EV drivers must link a debit or credit card to their Zapmap profile. The Zap-Pay feature, first introduced in 2020, simplifies the charging experience by allowing payments across multiple networks within the app.
ChargePlace Scotland operates with support from Transport Scotland and is managed by Evolt Charging. The network’s charging points are owned by various entities, including local councils, public bodies, charities, and private businesses that have received government grants for installation.
“Integrating ChargePlace Scotland’s network into Zap-Pay is a great result for both current and future EV drivers, enabling quick and easy charging throughout the country,” said Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap.
Chris Waldron of Transport Scotland added, “ChargePlace Scotland has played a significant role in the transition to zero-emission vehicles over the last decade. A roaming partnership with Zapmap will help us continue on that journey toward a transport system that is sustainable, inclusive, and accessible.”
