Changan Automobile has introduced the all-electric Deepal S05 in the United Kingdom, marking the brand’s second model to enter the market after the launch of the S07 last year.
Orders for the Deepal S05 open on March 1, with pricing starting at £37,990 for the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version and £39,990 for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant. Both versions are equipped with a 68.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.

The RWD model is powered by a 200 kW synchronous motor producing 290 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 7.5 seconds. The AWD version adds an asynchronous motor at the front axle, increasing combined output to 320 kW and 502 Nm, and reducing the 0–62 mph time to 5.5 seconds. Top speed for both versions is limited to 112 mph.
The vehicle’s WLTP driving range is rated at up to 303 miles for the RWD variant and 278 miles for the AWD model. The battery supports DC fast charging at up to 200 kW, allowing the charge level to increase from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes. AC charging is supported at up to 11 kW. The vehicle also includes a vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature capable of supplying up to 6 kW of external power.
The Deepal S05 offers a 492-litre rear luggage compartment and a 159-litre front trunk, with total cargo capacity expanding to 1,250 litres when the rear seats are folded. The SUV includes 17 driver assistance systems supporting Level 2 functionality, using a combination of cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors. These features include a 540-degree surround-view system.

The S05 follows the introduction of the Deepal S07 in the UK in September 2025, which launched at a starting price of £39,990.
The model was styled at Changan’s European design centre in Turin and developed with support from the company’s research and development facility in Birmingham. Production takes place in Thailand at a factory dedicated to right-hand-drive vehicles. The vehicle is offered with a seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty and an eight-year, 124,000-mile battery warranty.
