CATL and Transfar Group have signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at accelerating green and intelligent transformation across multiple industrial sectors, the battery maker said in a statement issued on Dec. 15.
The agreement was signed in Ningde, Fujian province, and formalises a partnership focused on combining CATL’s strengths in new energy technologies and zero-carbon solutions with Transfar’s capabilities in smart manufacturing and intelligent logistics. The two companies said they plan to jointly develop a more open and sustainable industrial ecosystem.

A central element of the cooperation involves supply-chain integration, with the partners seeking closer coordination in areas including critical battery materials, warehousing and logistics optimisation. The aim is to improve supply-chain resilience, efficiency and environmental performance to support long-term industrial development.
The agreement also outlines plans to expand zero-carbon application scenarios, covering logistics and transportation, electrification of commercial vehicles, industrial and commercial energy storage, and integrated solar–storage–charging–swapping networks. Other areas include the development of zero-carbon communities and smart agriculture, with an emphasis on scalable demonstration projects.

In addition, CATL and Transfar said they will explore emerging industries driven by intelligent technologies, including pilot applications of embodied intelligent robots in cities such as Hangzhou, and closer integration between advanced equipment manufacturing and new energy systems.
The partnership marks a shift from project-based cooperation to ecosystem-level collaboration, according to CATL. Hangzhou will serve as the initial focus for localised applications and business model development, with plans to expand successful initiatives across Zhejiang province and eventually nationwide.
