Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has signed an agreement to deliver 200 electric sedans to the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC), as the Emirati firm accelerates efforts to transition to a fully electric fleet by 2040.

The vehicles, BYD Seal models, will be deployed across the city as part of DTC’s broader sustainability goals aligned with Dubai’s Net Zero 2050 strategy. The company currently operates over 9,000 vehicles, with approximately 86 percent already categorized as environmentally friendly.
