Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has launched pre-sales of its new all-electric mid-size sedan, the Seal 06 EV, as part of an ongoing expansion of its Seal model lineup.
The pre-sale was announced on May 31 at the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show, also known as the Shenzhen auto show. The vehicle is expected to officially launch later in the second quarter.

The Seal 06 EV is priced between RMB 120,000 and RMB 150,000 ($16,670–$20,840). The model was first unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai auto show in April and adopts the design language shared by other vehicles in the Seal family.
According to regulatory data, the Seal 06 EV is a single-motor electric sedan with dimensions of 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, along with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It will be available in two power options—110 kW and 160 kW—offering top speeds of 160 km/h and 180 km/h respectively.

The Seal lineup, which originally launched as a single electric sedan, has grown to include several hybrid and electric variants. The broader family now comprises the Seal 05 DM-i, 06 DM-i, and 07 DM-i hybrid models, as well as the all-electric Seal 06 GT and the original Seal sedan. These vehicles are priced between RMB 79,800 and RMB 239,800.
The introduction of the Seal 06 EV highlights BYD’s efforts to diversify its product offerings in China’s competitive EV market, where the company remains a dominant player among both domestic and international manufacturers.
