BYD has reduced prices on three hybrid models in its Ocean series, following the launch of its Smart Driving Edition updates, according to information shared by a company executive on social media.
The non-Smart Driving version of the Seal 06 DM-i hybrid sedan is now priced at RMB 89,800 ($12,360), down 10% from its official guide price of RMB 99,800. The non-Smart Driving version of the entry-level Seal 07 DM-i hybrid sedan has been reduced by RMB 10,000 to RMB 129,800, while the Song Plus DM-i hybrid SUV saw its price drop by RMB 16,000 to RMB 119,800.

“Interested customers can consult BYD dealers for details on these three models,” Zhang Zhuo, head of sales for BYD’s Ocean series, wrote on Weibo.
BYD introduced its Smart Driving Edition updates on February 10, adding advanced driver-assistance features to 10 models in the Dynasty series and 11 in the Ocean series. The company no longer displays non-Smart Driving variants on its official website.

The automaker sold 4.27 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2024, marking a 41.3% increase from the previous year. The Ocean series accounted for 1.95 million units, up 52.2% year-on-year, while the Dynasty series contributed 2.1 million units, growing 31.4%.
BYD aims to sell 5.5 million vehicles in 2025, including over 800,000 in overseas markets, chairman and president Wang Chuanfu was quoted as saying by local media LatePost earlier this week.
