BYD has introduced the Sealion 07 electric SUV in Norway, following its launch in other European markets earlier this month. Rebranded as the Sealion 7 in Norway and across Europe, the model joins BYD’s growing range of EVs in the region.
The Sealion 07 EV is priced at NOK 469,900 ($42,150) in Norway and becomes the seventh BYD model available in the country, alongside the Seal U, Seal, Dolphin, Tang, Atto 3, and Han. Some of these models are sold under different names in BYD’s domestic market, such as the Seal U, which is marketed as the Song Plus EV in China, and the Atto 3, known as the Yuan Plus in China.
Built on BYD’s upgraded e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the Sealion 07 EV first debuted in China on May 10 and is offered there in four variants, starting at RMB 189,800 ($26,220). The model made its European debut at the Paris Auto Show in October and was officially launched in Europe at an event in Frankfurt on November 12, with deliveries expected to begin in 2025.
BYD’s global performance reflects its rapid growth in the NEV sector. In October, the company sold 502,657 NEVs, including 500,526 passenger vehicles and 2,131 commercial units.
The Sealion series achieved 19,232 sales during the month, marking a 64.9% increase from September. Overseas, BYD sold 31,192 NEVs in October, up 2.2% year-on-year but slightly down 5.51% from the previous month.
