In the Middle East, the Atto 8 is offered in both DM-i and DM-p plug-in hybrid variants and integrates Google-based services to better align with local consumer preferences, BYD said. The model is positioned as a family-oriented vehicle suitable for both urban use and longer-distance travel.

The Tang L was launched in China in April and is available there in both battery-electric and hybrid versions. BYD’s DM-i hybrid system is designed to prioritise fuel efficiency, while the DM-p version emphasises higher performance. In some overseas markets, including Mexico, the Atto 8 name is also used for the Tang SUV sold in China.

According to BYD, the DM-i version delivers a combined driving range of up to 728 km, while the higher-performance DM-p variant produces a combined maximum output of 359 kW and features the DiSus-C chassis control system to improve handling under varied road conditions.
