BYD has officially launched the e7, a new all-electric sedan aimed at the shared mobility and business vehicle markets, as the Chinese automaker continues to expand its new energy vehicle (NEV) lineup.
The BYD e7 is available in three variants priced at RMB 103,800, RMB 109,800, and RMB 115,800. The company is offering a RMB 5,000 limited-time discount for customers purchasing the car before June 30, bringing the starting price down to RMB 98,800 ($14,400).

Unlike BYD’s Dynasty and Ocean series, the e7 does not fall under either naming convention. Instead, it is featured on BYD’s corporate-facing platform, which highlights models for taxis, ride-hailing, and fleet services. While BYD has not explicitly outlined the target customer for the e7, the listing suggests a focus on the shared mobility sector.
The mid-sized electric sedan measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It is equipped with a 100 kW single electric motor and can reach a top speed of 150 km/h. Two battery options are available: 48 kWh and 57.6 kWh, offering CLTC ranges of 450 km and 520 km, respectively.

The e7 is part of BYD’s e-series, which received its last update in March 2024 with the launch of the e2 Glory Edition. BYD ceased production of internal combustion engine vehicles in March 2022, now focusing entirely on plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
In April, BYD sold 380,089 NEVs, marking a 21.34% year-on-year increase, including 372,615 passenger vehicles and 7,474 commercial vehicles. Sales of the BYD e2 reached 612 units, down 66.26% from a year ago but up 17.92% from March.
