BYD Launches Five Electric Cars in the French Market
Chinese automaker BYD is set to introduce five electric cars to the French market, marking the beginning of its expansion in the country. Collaborating with four major dealer networks for sales, BYD aims to establish 15 to 20 sales locations across France in partnership with its dealers before the end of this year, with a long-term goal of reaching 100 locations.
The first batch of BYD vehicles will be supplied to dealers this month, and sales are scheduled to commence shortly thereafter. While BYD has mentioned three dealer groups by nameâBYmyCAR, Kroely, and Bodemerâthey refer to a total of four major dealer networks. BYmyCAR, which currently operates two car dealerships in Paris, is among the confirmed partners. Kroely plans to open locations in Strasbourg, Metz, Nancy, and Mulhouse in the third quarter of 2023, while Bodemer will initiate operations in Rennes initially.
BYD’s electric car trio, consisting of the Atto 3, Han, and Tang models, will be available in France upon launch. These models are already present in other European markets. Additionally, the Dolphin model will be introduced in July, followed by the Seal after the summer season. BYD had previously announced their plans to bring these vehicles to Europe in mid-April.
BYD has successfully established its presence in several European countries, including Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Portugal. Italy and Hungary will also have access to the three electric car models, with further expansion into “additional European countries” planned for 2024.
As BYD expands its electric vehicle offerings and collaborates with prominent dealer networks, it aims to contribute to the growing adoption of electric mobility in France and bolster its presence in the European market as a whole.
