BYD has introduced four electric commercial vehicles in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in partnership with Al-Futtaim, as the two companies strengthen their collaboration in the region. The launch event, held in Dubai on February 26, marks BYDâs growing footprint in the UAEâs commercial vehicle market.
The new lineup includes the ETM6 all-electric truck, designed for urban logistics with a 3.6-ton load capacity and a 126-kWh blade battery. The Light Truck T5, another logistics vehicle, features a 4-ton capacity and a 132-kWh blade battery.

The ETH8 medium-duty truck, equipped with a 255-kWh blade battery, has a 10-ton load capacity for heavy-duty transport. Completing the range is the B12 electric bus, a 12-meter-long city bus with a 425-kWh blade battery that delivers up to 550 kilometers of range.
“This launch provides local businesses and public transportation operators with new green mobility options,” BYD stated in a release.

BYD and Al-Futtaim are set to deepen their collaboration beyond vehicle distribution. The UAE-based Al-Futtaim family office has now become a strategic investor in BYD, participating in the companyâs HK$43.5 billion ($5.6 billion) share issuance in Hong Kong, BYD announced earlier today. The companies plan to expand cooperation in new energy vehicles (NEVs) and explore growth opportunities in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Al-Futtaim, a conglomerate founded in the 1930s, represents more than 200 international brands across 20 countries. The group has worked with BYD in the past, having launched the Atto 3âbranded as the Yuan Plus in Chinaâin the UAE in June 2023, marking BYDâs entry into the local passenger car market.
