BP Pulse, Waffle House Partner to Roll Out Fast EV Charging at U.S. Diners

BP Pulse and U.S. diner chain Waffle House have signed a strategic partnership to install fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at restaurant locations across the country, the companies announced on Tuesday.

Each site will feature six charging bays equipped with 400kW DC chargers and a combination of CCS and NACS connectors. The chargers will be installed in Waffle House parking lots, starting in Southern states such as Texas, Georgia, and Florida, with 24/7 access expected in line with the restaurant’s round-the-clock service.

BP Pulse, the EV charging division of British oil major BP, said the partnership forms part of its strategy to build a robust nationwide network by pairing ultrafast charging infrastructure with convenient, high-traffic amenities.

“As an integrated energy company, BP is committed to providing efficient solutions like ultrafast charging to support our customers’ mobility needs,” said Sujay Sharma, CEO of BP Pulse Americas. “We’re building a robust network of ultrafast chargers across the country, and this is another example of third-party collaborations enabling access to charging co-located with convenient amenities for EV drivers.”

The first installations are scheduled to go live in 2026. The companies did not disclose the number of total sites planned.

David Repp, Director of Innovation at Waffle House, said the partnership will offer added convenience to customers. “Waffle House is thrilled to collaborate with BP Pulse to offer our customers a safe, well-lit and welcoming place to enjoy Good Food Fast any time of day,” he said. “Charging up while fueling up on an All-Star Special will be convenient and fast – a perfect option for enjoying the Waffle House experience while charging your EV on the go.”

BP Pulse currently operates more than 8,000 charging locations in the U.S. and has previously partnered with companies such as Hertz and airport operators to expand its footprint. The company recently narrowed its international focus to four core markets: the U.S., UK, China, and Germany.
