BMW announced a partnership with AirConsole that will bring casual gaming to BMW electric vehicles, starting next year.
AirConsole is a gaming platform, and the company considers that the services it provides are a perfect match for the BMW Curved Display and offer a large and diverse catalog of games.
The game is run directly within the entertainment system in the latest BMW vehicles. AirConsole technology allows games to be sent instantly over the air and controlled using a smartphone.
“With the AirConsole we will leverage innovative technology combined with a wide variety of fun and multiplayer gameplay,” said Stephan Durach, Senior Vice President of BMW Group Connected Company Development in a release shared on Twitter.

Durach adds that this will make any waiting situation in the vehicle, such as charging, an enjoyable moment.
Anthony Cliquot, CEO of N-Dream, the company behind the AirConsole brand said they are very proud and excited about this new partnership.
“We are very proud to be at the forefront of in-vehicle gaming with BMW and are excited to create new games for in-car entertainment. Our ingenious architecture coupled with the ease of access of our platform will change the way people get entertainment in their vehicles.”
AirConsole technology in BMW will later provide a smooth playing experience in the car. Players only need a smartphone that functions as a game controller, and a BMW Curved Display.
The connection between the smartphone and the vehicle is established, by scanning the QR code inside the vehicle. Players can then immediately enjoy the entertaining gameplay.
