BMW Motorrad has announced a recall for the BMW CE 04 electric scooter in Europe. The recall was due to a problem with the bracket connecting the horn to the electric scooter’s chassis.

To note, BMW tucked the CE 04 horn under the bodywork of the front-end model. If the horn bracket or fastener loosens over time, the component may fall directly into the front wheel track. If this happens, it can cause the steering wheel to lock when turning left.

BMW itself has not revealed whether it will replace the horn bracket or will change the position of the bracket installation. However, CE 04 consumers are asked to immediately contact the nearest authorized dealer or repair shop for free repairs.

This recall was made for the European market and it is not yet known whether the problem with the horn bracket also occurs outside Europe or not.

The BMW CE 04 electric scooter is equipped with a 42 hp electric motor that can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The maximum speed of the electric scooter is 120 km/h and is powered by a 60.6 Ah battery that can be driven up to 130 kilometers on a single charge.

Charging from empty to full takes 4 hours 20 minutes with a normal charger. Meanwhile, if you use a fast charger it only takes 1 hour 40 minutes, and charging 20 to 80 percent only takes 45 minutes with fast charging.
