Blink Mobility, an all-electric carsharing subsidiary of Blink Charging, has acquired Envoy Technologies, a company that provides shared electric vehicles as an amenity for real estate developers. The move is expected to create one of the largest all-electric carsharing companies in the United States by combining Blink’s existing EV carsharing service with Envoy’s fleet, which includes all Tesla models, the Rivian R1T, Porsche Taycan, Polestar 2, Audi e-tron, Chevy Bolt, and the Nissan Leaf.
Envoy has deployed over 300 electric vehicles at more than 150 multifamily properties and office buildings, as well as installed over 150 charging stations. The company’s carsharing platform and mobile app offer electric vehicles as an amenity to apartments, office buildings, and hotels. Envoy’s platform, called “Mobility as an Amenity service,” allows users to reserve and access vehicles, provides maintenance services, chargers, fleet and analytics.

The acquisition will help Blink Mobility manage its expansion plans, particularly in New Jersey, where it was awarded $7.5 million to develop an electric carsharing program. The program will target communities that lack access to reliable transportation.
Blink Mobility’s existing service, called BlueLA, was launched in 2021 and offers 300 street-side EV charging stations and an unknown number of electric cars in Los Angeles. In response to the service’s popularity, the Los Angeles City Council agreed to expand the service and add 300 street-side EV charging stations across 60 new locations, and expand the number of EVs in the fleet to 150. Blink Charging will be the sole supplier of charging services to the EVs.
With this acquisition, Blink Mobility will be able to leverage Envoy’s vast experience in the electric carsharing space while expanding its service to new communities. The move is a positive development for the Transportation Electrification Partnership, which aims to have 80% of all cars sold in LA County to be BEVs by the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Aric Ohana, CEO at Envoy Technologies, said, “We look forward to continuing to advance the electric carsharing industry with Blink Mobility,” while Matt Petersen, CEO of LACI and Chair of the Transportation Electrification Partnership, commented that “Envoy joining forces with Blink Mobility is the kind of market force we need.
